This gateway is well-suited to scenarios in which you’re the only person who creates reports, and you dont need to share any data sources with others. An on-premises data gateway (personal mode) can be used only with Power BI.
I know there's a chance to connect googlesheets with power BI and then also do the gateway connection, but that requires publishing the google sheet on the web, but it's sensitive data. On-premises data gateway (personal mode): Allows one user to connect to sources and can’t be shared with others.
Working with google drive: here I have more doubts.
POWER BI DESKTOP CONNECT TO GATEWAY UPDATE
My question here is: if I schedule an update and, at the time of the update, my computer where I have saved the excel sheet is turned off, the update will fail right? The safest thing would be to put all the Excel on a server on the same gateway network, right? Work with Microsoft Excel, with excel sheets on local and connect with gateway to those sheets. I'm looking at the options that exist to connect excel sheets with power BI.
